what is yoga-informed
When we think of “therapy” we most likely see the iconic “couch”. We see a patient/client sharing innermost thoughts, and a trained, professional nodding, writing, and mumbling an occasional “mmm hmm”. For those who suffer with mental health concerns—and for those who treat them—this is a care model all too familiar and all too often, incomplete for both client and practitioner.
This is where Yoga-Informed Psychotherapy can help
Yoga-Informed Psychotherapy brings together Western concepts and practices of treatment and the 2,500 year-old living tradition of Yoga that seeks to illuminate the self. Essential facets of Yoga theory and practices are interwoven with neurobiological concepts, biopsychological somatic models, and psychodynamic and behavioral traditions of psychotherapy. This training will prepare you as a therapist to confidently utilize Yoga philosophy, psychology and practices, in a range of treatment settings and for individuals and groups.
